In Art and Design pupils explore and experiment with a wide range of media including clay and plaster. They become familiar with visual elements such as line, tone and texture. Most projects use a particular artist or artistic movement such as a starting point and allows the pupils to discover art from other times or cultures and helps them to develop their own skills in visual presentation and communication. Pupils work in 2D and 3 D in projects ranging from traditional landscape and portrait to modern art such as cubism and pop art. Art at Park aims to develop pupil’s awareness of the visual world and teach skills which will allow them to express their own feelings and thoughts visually through work based on both imagination and observation.
