DT is an exciting area where pupils research, design and evaluate products using a range of materials, tools and processes, including CAD and CAM (Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacture), Control Technology, Electronics and Smart Materials (such as Shape Memory Alloy – a metal that ‘remembers’ its original shape). These products include a flashing electronic badge (yr7), activity centre (y8), mechanical toys (y5) textile hanging wall (y5) and robots (y6). |
